TRAVEL GIFTS TO BRING THE WORLD HOME. HANDMADE IN CANADA.

TA ADVENTURES

Welcome to Ta Adventures! A little space for sharing my travels and journeys as me and The Boy explore the globe.

We’ve been lucky enough to live in three very different Countries, in very different parts of the World.  We were both born and raised in the United Kingdom and then moved to Dubai for work back when we were both twenty-something.  After 4 1/2 years living together in Dubai, we decided it was time to make our move once again, and the plan was always (at some point or other) to head to Canada.  To be honest it’s been something in the back of my mind for the last 17 years (almost to the day) when I visited family in BC and fell in love with the mountains.  Now we’re finally here, we hope to put down roots, and embrace life as Calgarians, hopefully forever!

THE BURJ AL ARAB & JUMEIRAH BEACH HOTEL, DUBAI, UAE

From the UK travelling to somewhere like Sri Lanka or the Maldives is a major thing.  Massively long flights, and huge price tags to match meaning months or even years of saving.  But from Dubai, that same trip is only a few hours, so it’s affordable and you can go just for a long weekend or a short break.  It opens up so many possibilities.  The other great thing about living in an International flight hub destination, is that some of the best airlines in the World have so many flights, often several times a day.  And my other favourite, the multi-trip.  We definitely wouldn’t have been able to visit so many places in such a short time, without this amazing concept.  In a nutshell we managed to fly to Sri Lanka, The Maldives and Hong Kong FOR FREE, just by combining the booking with our flights back home to the UK, which we would have taken regardless.  So a little bit of forward planning and the World is your oyster as they say!

VELLIGANDU ISLAND, THE MALDIVES

Now that we’ve getting settled in Calgary, there’s a whole host of possible new destinations. A whole new continent infact! Its going to be hard to know where to start, so please let me know if you have any recommendations!

SIGIRIYA ROCK, SRI LANKA

I’ll be sharing some of our best and worst moments of our adventures new and old.  So tag along and find out where we go!

Ta muchly!
