Australian Bush Fires

· · · Comments

First up, I wanted to wish you a very Happy New Year and a great 2020! But unfortunately the news at the moment isn't all that happy. Sadly the latest reports coming out of Australia right now seem only to be getting more and more devastating.

We travelled to Australia on our honeymoon - I nearly said 'last year' then, but I guess I have to say in 2018 now! We were lucky enough to be able to see some incredible places, we met some amazing animals in the wild and in rescue centres, and also got to catch up with my sister-in-law and her husband who live in Perth too. I can easily say it was one on the best trips of my life, and I have so many happy memories of my travels around the Country. It makes me so sad that many of the places we visited will look very different today.

I wanted to be able to help out in some small way, although it doesn't seem like much. I wish I could do more. So I've added a digital version of our Australia Mandala Map Art Print to the store, which you can download and print at home, or with your local printers. That way, wherever you are in the World, you can have a piece of Ta Muchly art in your home, whilst also helping a great cause.

CAD $20 from the sale of each download will be donated to WIRES Australian Wildlife Rescue, who are doing great work to help to rescue the millions of native animals who are injured, displaced or facing drought and starvation after the events of the last few months. Yep, you read that right, MILLIONS. I hadn't quite appreciated the scale of the fires until I read that on the WIRES website. Current estimates believe that between 480 and 800 MILLION animals have been affected so far. I'm not sure I can even comprehend that amount.

The download is available in several sizes, and you'll receive a link to the PDF file as soon as you check out, and then again via email. I'll be donating $20 from each sale directly to WIRES within 3 days of each purchase, making sure the money goes to somewhere it can really make a difference.
